Finance Minister Touts Development Projects in Ashanti Region
Kumasi, 20th February 2024, – Finance Minister, Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam has touted development projects by the current government in the Ashanti Region, citing major infrastructure projects such as expansions of the Kumasi International Airport, the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital Maternity Block, and construction and rehabilitation of roads in Kumasi.
He noted that though these projects have faced delays the government has found some money for their early completion.
“We thank you especially for your support and patience with this government as we have faced some challenges that have affected the timeline for finishing these critical projects,” he said.
He made these remarks during a courtesy call on the Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon Simon Osei-Mensah on Tuesday as part of a working tour of the Ashanti Region.
He emphasized the importance of the region, noting that Kumasi, the regional capital is Ghana’s commercial hub and a business destination for people across the country and from abroad. “Your contribution to the development of the country and the economy cannot be overlooked,” the Finance Minister said.
He conveyed the President’s unalloyed commitment to see to the completion of all development projects in the regional and added that, “the President has tasked me to personally ensure we get all projects completed on time for the good people of the region”.
Hon Simon Osei-Mensah after commending him for his elevation to the position of Finance Minister, assured him of his support and added that, “your success as the Finance Minister is our success and your failure too will affect us all”.
The Minister for Finance was accompanied on the working tour by the Hon. Deputy Minister for Finance and MP for Ejisu, John Ampontuah Kumah, Chief Director, Eva Mends, selected Officials of the Ministry, and the Media. END
