About The Ministry
Our Mandate
The Ministry of Finance is one of the Central Management Agencies of the Civil Service of Ghana. The Ministry was established under sections 11 & 13 of the Civil Service Law 1993 (PNDCL 327) as amended by an Executive Instrument 28 (E.I. 28) Civil Service (Ministries) (Amendment Instrument, 2017) to ensure effective and efficient Macroeconomic and Financial Management of Ghana’s economy.
Our Function​
The Ministry of Finance plays a critical role in driving the country’s economic growth and sustainable development. With a focus on transparency, accountability, and efficiency, the ministry undertakes a diverse range of functions to ensure sound fiscal policies and financial management.
Its functions include formulating, implementing, and evaluating macroeconomic policies, ensuring effective resource mobilization, and prudent resource allocation.

The ministry deploys efficient financial management information systems and upholds transparency, probity, and accountability in financial resource management.
It also prioritizes the sustainability of public debt and strives to develop a robust financial sector that supports economic transformation and financial inclusion, promoting global integration.
